Number of years with SpecTec Cruise

Only 4 weeks! It feels a lot longer, i’m loving it so far.

Can you provide a bit of background on your role at SpecTec Cruise?

I am a people partner, supporting the crew at SpecTec Cruise

What do you get up to in a normal working day?

In the 4 weeks I’ve been here, I’ve been involved in so much already. There’s a real focus on driving people engagement initiatives alongside embedding our new values across everything we do, so I’ve been analysing the results from the employee engagement survey (which scored an incredible 8.5, which speaks for itself) to ensure recommendations are identified, action plans are updated and working closely with the HR Team and SLT to prioritize our next steps and Q4 objectives to make SpecTec Cruise such a special place to work.

Favourite thing about working at SpecTec Cruise?

It’s evident, even in the short space of time I have worked here, what a people-first business this is. I’m a huge advocate of fostering a healthy culture driven by values and purpose, so this business aligns with how I like to work. Plus, everyone I have met has been so welcoming, so you can see it’s a lovely team.

What do you do in your spare time?

I love making plans with family and friends, so there’s always something going on at weekends, usually involving food! I have a beautiful German shepherd called Beau, so I take lots of walks on the beach with her, regardless of the weather. In the summer months, we try to get away as much as we can in our campervan, usually to a beach or lake where we can get out the kayak or paddleboards, and Beau likes to have a go, too!

What is your favourite cruise ship?

I’m new to the cruise industry, so I’m working on my cruise ship knowledge, but whilst taking the dog for a walk after my first day with SpecTec Cruise, I watched the Regal Princess depart Liverpool sailing up the Mersey playing the ‘Love Boat’ theme tune which was pretty cool. To be honest, they all look amazing, watching a documentary on the Icon of the Seas, it’s hard to comprehend just how vast it is!
